Venue Focus Piece #2 // Tyne Bar
Headlining the only outdoor stage at Evolution Emerging 2017 will be scuzzy four-piece EAT FAST who’ve quickly developed a knack for crafting sub-three-minute nuggets of fuzzy pop brilliance since first appearing at the start of 2016. With festival appearances at the likes of Live At Leeds and The Great Escape building up to our event and their ‘Immortal Kombat’ EP out via Cannibal Hymns (Dream Wife, Our Girl) on 19th May, their headline set is sure to be pretty special.
Also on the bill at The Tyne Bar are sub-headliners Mongeese who’ve slowly built up a cult following since forming in late 2014. Their blend of progressive rock and 2000’s math-rock is sure to be a real treat for all festival-goers.
Alt-pop outfit Shamu will be making their Evolution Emerging debut next month - Fans of Wild Beasts, Glass Animals and Public Service Broadcasting should definitely get along for this one.
Further down on the bill, Teesside outfit Figmennt will be whipping the crowd into a frenzy with their hazy shoegaze vibes, whilst members of EAT FAST Mark Brown and James King will be pulling double duty and joining Young Liar’s Joel Thomson for his instrumental noise-rock project Apologies.
Last but by certainly no means least, we have two of the region’s brightest acts kicking off proceedings in the form of garage rockers Penguin (making their live debut!) and dark indie three-piece New Horror who’re starting to make plenty of waves on the local scene.
Seven acts taking over The Tyne Bar stage day and night, it’s quite frankly unmissable!
