Venue Focus Piece #1 // Little Buildings
Situated close to our increasingly popular stage over at The Tyne Bar you’ll find one of the festival’s most intimate venues in the form of Little Buildings.
Whilst acting as a practice room throughout the year for many of the artists on our 2017 lineup, the small space really comes alive at Evolution Emerging and this year will certainly be no different.
Progressive, post-hardcore outfit Cauls will be occupying the headline slot with their distinctive sound rallying against the din of predictability and are sure to get everyone talking. Comparisons to the likes of At The Drive-In, mewithoutYou and The Mars Volta have been made far and wide and we’re predicting one of the highlights of the festival could very well be their performance inside Little Buildings.
Joining the raucous Cauls on the bill are sub-headliners The Black Sheep Frederick Dickens, the dark wave/gothic-electro duo from Darlington whose cinematic soundscapes combined with unhinged, baritone vocals will certainly be like nothing else on offer at Evolution Emerging 2017. Expect to hear tracks aplenty from their forthcoming second EP.
Last but not least, Newcastle quintet Slow Decades will be opening proceedings with their wonderfully melancholic sound and glimmering melodic beauty of new record ‘Hinterlands’ sure to help kick-start the evening in style.
So there you have it, three completely different bands taking over Little Buildings at Evolution Emerging with plenty to offer. Get yourself there!
